Switching to Edunile
Moving your school to Edunile is easier than most people expect. If your current system — or even a stack of spreadsheets — can save to Excel, you can bring your students, staff, and classes across in well under a day, and your old records stay exactly where they are.
Edunile only ever imports a copy, so nothing is lost and nothing on your current system breaks. You can take your time, check everything, and move over fully only when you are ready.
What you can bring across

You set up your classes once — it takes only a few minutes — and then import your students straight into them.
Getting your records out of your current setup
Already in Excel or Google Sheets? You can import them straight away — in most cases there is nothing to reformat.
On another school system? Look for an “Export to Excel” or “Download” option, usually in the students or records area. If you cannot find it, ask your provider for a copy of your data — it belongs to your school, and they should hand it over.
Had a system built for you by a developer? Ask them to send your students and staff as a spreadsheet. If they are hard to reach — a common reason schools move in the first place — our team will help you gather and tidy your records.
Your old system keeps running
Nothing changes on your current system. You can keep using it for a full term while you settle into Edunile, and switch over fully only once you are happy that everything is in place.
How the move works
- 1Save your students and staff to a spreadsheet (Excel or CSV).
- 2Create your Edunile workspace and add your classes and terms — about 15 minutes.
- 3Import your spreadsheet and match the columns to the right fields.
- 4Check the imported records, invite your staff, and you are live.

Common questions about switching
Will I lose any of my data?
No. Edunile only imports a copy of your records. Your current system is left exactly as it is, so nothing is deleted or changed.
How long does switching take?
Most schools bring their records across in well under a day. A single class takes only a few minutes once your spreadsheet is ready.
Can I keep using my old system while I check?
Yes. You can run both side by side for a full term and switch over fully only once you are happy everything is in place.
What if my records are messy or spread across several files?
That is normal, and it is not a problem. Send us what you have and our team will help you get it into shape before you import.
